Craigella has very fine flavoured rich red fruit. With a history going back almost 100 years, this is an heirloom. It was originally selected from crosses between Ailsa Craig & Tigerella. As a greenback resistant variety Craigella copes well with the extremes of heat & light in a greenhouse if you cannot be there to open windows or put up shading when the sun comes out.
Plant in the greenhouse or in a sunny sheltered part of your garden. For the best flavour keep soil evenly damp (don’t over-water or overfeed). Craigella, being indeterminate, can grow tall and will need supporting. It will bloom, set new fruit and ripen fruit all at the same time throughout the season. There is no need to pinch out side shoots unless you prefer to do so.
