Outreach Energy Support
With Generation Green Community funding, we have developed home energy kits for community development groups throughout Donegal. These kits are designed as practical training tools to support upskilling and to equip participating groups to help their local communities identify where energy is being wasted.
Each kit includes a range of easy-to-use equipment and resources, including a thermal leak detector, plug-in energy monitor, fridge-freezer thermometer, radiator key etc. For groups to assess, educate, and take action to improve energy efficiency in their area.

Through its range of services, the organization strives to empower the community by promoting entrepreneurship, providing business support, and facilitating various training and educational programs. Comharchumann Forbartha Gaoth Dobhair serves as a catalyst for innovation and collaboration, offering a platform for local businesses to thrive, while also preserving and celebrating the rich heritage and Gaelic culture of the region.

Craoibhin Community Enterprise Centre, Termon is a community owned facility which includes a childcare centre, sports hall,meeting rooms and commercial units for the benefit of the community as a whole, young and old. We are now part of CoWork Plus offering coworking spaces to those in the community who may have to work remotely, self employed, business start up or are working and on the move a lot.
CoWork Plus is a collaboration between various ‘Not for Profit’ organisations in County Donegal. The overarching aim being to promote the economic development of the region. This is a LEADER funded project overseen by Donegal Local Development Company and funded by Donegal LCD.
Bluestack Centre Hostel
The Bluestack Centre Hostel in Letterbarra, Drimarone, is a voluntary community development group and rural social enterprise. It operates a 28-bed hostel alongside a local activity centre, serving as a social and economic hub for the rural community nestled in the Bluestack Mountains.

The Dolmen Centre
Originally founded as the Narin Portnoo Rosbeg Community Co-Operative Society Ltd., the centre is now locally known as the Dolmen Centre. It has been built and shaped by our community to provide services both for the local vicinity and visitors alike. Much of the work here is voluntary and there are numerous projects thriving to develop our rural community.
It is a focal point for all the community with special reference to Culture, Ecology, Education, Environment, Health, Heritage and Leisure
Forbairt Na Rosann
This is a friendly one-stop centre if you are looking for tourist information, a cup of tea, a book to read, a souvenir to buy or a boarding pass to print. Call in, we will be happy to assist you. Facilities include Fáilte Ireland Community Tourist Office, Public Community Library, a Cáfe and Irish Language Services. The centre has Wi-Fi, public computers, printing and administration services as well.

Greencastle Community Centre
The Centre has been providing childcare facilities for the community since 1991.
Our first dedicated computer training suite was installed in 1998.
In 2015 Pobal CSP allocated finding towards a full-time manager and Susan McAleer took up post in January 2016. With a dedicated manager at the helm, the Centre has been able to access both capital and operational grants through various funding streams, meaning a considerable increase in traded income, tenants, courses and Community involvement.
In 2017 LEADER funding was granted in order to update the computer suite and provide laptops, tablets, printing and scanning facilities. With the updated computer suite available full-time QQI accredited training have taken place each year since with courses such as Childcare level 5, Healthcare Level 5 and City and Guilds Business Administration.
Over the years Greencastle Community Centre has grown from strength to strength – becoming a vibrant & dynamic community hub committed to enhancing the health & wellbeing of people of all ages in the local area through education, training & support, recreational & sports activities, and sharing of information.
Capital funding has been provided by many agencies including the International Fund for Ireland, Sports Capital Fund, LEADER, Inishowen Development Partnership, Donegal Peace II Taskforce and the Ulster Community Investment Trust.
Support funders include Donegal VEC, Health Services Executive, Inishowen Partnership, IDP, Donegal Childcare Committee, the Department of Social Welfare and Pobal.
Staff funding has been provided at different times by FAS Community Employment Schemes, the Rural Social Scheme and Pobal’s Community Services Programme.
The Centre’s staff team is made up of Pobal Community Support Programme workers, local CE Scheme, Tús and RSS workers. The board of directors is made up of volunteers who take on the legal duties of charity trustees and are responsible for all governance matters in relation to the centre.
Lár Comhairle Paróiste Ghleann Cholm Cille
With the support of Údarás na Gaeltachta, the Lár Comhairle Paróiste working from their office in Malinmore, is funded to employ an Oifigeach Forbartha (full-time position).
With a ‘bottom-up’ approach to our community’s development, the Irish language and its revitalisation has always been a cornerstone of the Lár Comhairle’s work-plan. Working in partnership with our neighbouring parishes of Kilcar, Ardara, we setup an eight member Coiste Stiúrtha Pleanála Teanga and were successful in the submission of a 7 year plan to the Limistéar Pleanála Teanga (LPT) program. Branded as Béal an Phobail the first step to implementing the plan was taken when Oifigeach Teanga, Aisling Ní Churraighín took up her post in February 2020 and while challenged with COVID-19 is making a very definite and positive impression.
Since its foundation, the LCPG has worked closely with the Donegal County Council, Údarás na Gaeltachta and other state agencies (e.g Donegal Co. Council; HSE; Fáilte Ireland etc) on issues relevant to the area. Infrastructural development such as roads, housing, lighting, beach services and access, signage, hedge trimming, water and communications are among the many issues regularly brought to focus. Campaí Samhraidh, the Community Garden and recreational and educational classes for both adults and young people also feature among the activities organised annually by the Lár Comhairle.
Letterkenny CDP
Letterkenny Community Development Project (CDP) is a local charity and support group located at The Courtyard Shopping Centre on Lower Main Street in Letterkenny, County Donegal. It works to improve the local area by offering free counselling, social welfare application help, preschool childcare, and community recovery support.

Ionad an Mhachaire
The Maghery Community Centre was opened in 2006 after many years of effort and fundraising by the community. The centre is a hub for the local community and many local groups utilise its facilities.
The community centre provides the following resources:
The main hall is a multifunctional space where many activities can be held. The hall can be rented on an hourly basis, half day and full day basis.
The community centre is equipped with a full catering kitchen and can cater for small and large gatherings such as funeral lunches, private functions etc.
The community centre is perfect for holding children’s birthday parties. There are a number of packages available and includes hall rental and a bouncy castle for two hours. Hot food is available as an add on.
There is a well-equipped children’s playground adjacent to the community centre. It includes a wheelchair accessible swing.
The community centre has an all-terrain Beach Wheelchair. This can be booked and it is free of charge.

Áislann Rann na Feirste

Bunaíodh coiste ‘Togra Rann na Feirste’ in 1997 agus daingniú deontais chaipitil ó IFI, Údarás na Gaeltachta, Roinn na Gaeltachta agus MFG in 2007 le hionad pobal a chur ar fáil do bhunadh Rann na Feirste. Le linn feachtais tofa airgid d’éirí leis an choiste thar €320,000 eile a thógáil. Is páirt thábhachtach í an cultúr an dúchas agus an teanga i bpobal Rann na Feirste agus beifear ag súil go mbeidh gníomhaíochtaí na hÁislainne lárnach i gcaomhnú agus ag forbairt na ngnéithe sin.
Tá an Áislann féin tógtha i ‘bPáirc Sheáin Néill’ mar a thugtaí air agus cé gur fosclaíodh í i Meitheamh 2010 rinneadh í a oscailt go hoifigiúil ar an 21 Deireadh Fómhair 2011. Is féidir a rá gan amhras anois go bhfuil páirt lárnach a imirt ag Áislann Rann na Feirste i saol an phobail agus na pobail atá buailte linn.

ADoPT - Association for the Development of Pettigo & Tullyhommon
ADoPT (The Association for the Development of Pettigo & Tullyhommon) was formed in 1991 to address the problem of continuous social and economic decline of the Pettigo/Tullyhommon area. A limited company, ADOPT acts as a focal point for activity in Pettigo and Tullyhommon and has a strong history of working with individuals and community groups from all religions and backgrounds. ADOPT engage cross-community, cross border participation through an extensive programme of community activities.
