SSE Airtricity - Generation Green Community Fund

Cill Ulta made an application to SSE Airtricity Generation Green Community Fund. The project will focus on promoting established community groups that are struggling to ‘fit’ into sustainable development and understand the pathway to taking advantage of funding opportunities available to them. The project will focus on delivery of specific sustainable education training and on the needs recognised by each community.

With the assistance of the generation green funding, Cill Ulta has employed a community outreach officer to engage with community groups in the county and provide expertise and guidance on Energy, Biodiversity and Climate Change. We have also been able to install a 10KW battery system to further our journey towards net zero carbon emissions.

The SSE Airtricity Generation Green Community Fund has been established to support communities across the island of Ireland in their journey towards sustainability. The fund is designed to empower local communities to take an active role in the Green Transition - a collective shift toward greener, more sustainable living. Getting to net zero is in everyone’s interest and local communities will be at the heart of the energy transition.
