Heritage variety often called ‘banana’ shallots in cookbooks and are increasing in popularity for gourmet cooking. Bulbs are ‘easy to slice’ and they have an excellent eating quality with a mild and sweet flavour. Delicious when used either raw in salads or cooked, with good-sized bulbs useful for storing.
